Authorities on Thursday deemed a suspicious package found at a Tenderloin building to be harmless, police said.
Firefighters had initially responded about 6:30 a.m. to a report of smoke coming from a garbage chute in the building at 44 McAllister St., fire Lt. Mindy Talmadge said.
