A burning desire for closure in murders of three Bologna family members may land an innocent man in prison, the defense said Wednesday during closing arguments.
Marla Zamora, who represents accused killer Edwin Ramos, said the evidence in the case cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the alleged MS-13 gang member pulled the trigger that killed the three family members.

A hearing to set a trial date for the alleged gang member accused of killing Tony Bolona and two of his sons was delayed until Nov. 24. Edwin Ramos, an alleged MS-13 gang member, is charged with murder in the June 22, 2008, deaths of Bologna, 48, and two of his sons — Michael, 20, and Matthew, 16 — in the Excelsior district. Ramos has also been charged with attempted murder of a third son.
