UPDATE: Man shot by police in Bayview dies

A 19-year-old man who was shot by police Saturday afternoon in the Bayview has died. The suspect, who was shot by two officers after allegedly turning and firing at the cops, was running from police after failing to provide a valid Muni fare died. A spokeswoman for Supervisor Malia Cohen, who represents the Bayview district, said she received confirmation from San Francisco General Hospital that the suspect died. Man shot in buttocks in Bayview district

A 52-year-old man was shot in the buttocks while working on his car in the Bayview on Wednesday, police said. The victim told police he heard about a half-dozen gunshots before realizing he’d been shot near the intersection of Hudson Avenue and Bertha Lane around 11:45 p.m. The injured man’s friend drove him to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were not life threatening. A 23-year-old man was critically injured in a Bayview shooting on Sunday, police said. The victim was in a car with three other people that was traveling on Third Street around 3:30 a.m. When the car turned onto Gilman Street, a gunman on foot opened fire into the car.
