Carolyn Gage lost her home to foreclosure, but on Tuesday, she took it back.
On Gage’s stretch of Quesada Avenue in the Bayview, 11 homes are in foreclosure, and four families, including her own, have been evicted.
But Tuesday, Gage and her neighbors decided to fight back against the banks that they say deceived them with high-interest, adjustable-rate loans and refused to work with them to reduce their payments.

A man was injured during a shooting Monday night in San Francisco's Bayview District, police said.
Officers responded to the 1400 block of Revere Avenue around 9 p.m. and found a 24-year-old San Francisco resident suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police said the victim had been standing on the sidewalk when the shooting occurred.
The Police Department's gang task force is investigating.

While victims danced in a Bayview nightclub Sunday, two car burglars were allegedly having a window-smashing party in the parking lot, San Francisco police said.The suspects are believed to have broken into six cars and stolen from a total of 13 victims outside the club venue at Barneveld and Dorman avenues around 2:20 a.m.

Heartless crooks carjacked a 67-year-old man’s Crown Victoria in the Bayview on Tuesday, police said.The victim was sitting in his white 1999-model Ford Crown Victoria, which had been pulled to the side of the road at Oakdale Avenue and Ingalls Street around 5:45 p.m. Three men in their 20s approached him, brandished a semiautomatic handgun and ordered him out of the car. The victim complied and wasn’t injured, police said.

A woman was injured by flying glass after a gun-toting thug fired into her neighbor's Bayview home on Sunday.
The 49-year-old victim was standing outside with a friend in the 1000 block of Fitzgerald Avenue around 7:30 p.m. when the shooting occurred, police said.
A black, 2000s-model, 4-door Lexus carrying four men stopped in front of her neighbor's home. A passenger got out and fired multiple shots into that home, cops said.

A woman was robbed of her purse and her car in the Bayview on Tuesday, cops said. The woman was standing outside her car talking with a friend in the area of Carroll Avenue and Ingalls Street around 12:25 p.m. when they were approached by two hoodlums, police said. The victim said she was on the drivers side and the keys were in the ignition.

An elderly man was knocked down and robbed by a heartless woman in the Bayview on Tuesday, cops said. The 76-year-old was at a gas station in the 3000 block of Third Street and headed to Chinatown when he was attacked around 3:15 a.m., police said. A woman in her 40s approached the man, knocked him to the ground and stole his coin purse, police said. She then fled in an unknown direction.

A fire in a single-room occupancy unit in the Bayview neighborhood displaced 23 people Saturday afternoon.
The fire broke out at about 3 p.m. Saturday at 5122 Third St., between Revere and Shafter avenues, in a room on the top floor of the three-story building, according to Assistant Fire Chief Dave Franklin.
The blaze shut down Muni service on Third Street for about an hour, while firefighters extinguished the fire, he said.

A teenage boy was arrested Wednesday in connection with a shooting last month that injured a 5-year-old girl who had been walking home from school in the Bayview, police said Thursday.
The 16-year-old suspect was nabbed around 4 p.m. following a police foot chase at the intersection of Kirkwood Avenue and Mendell Street, a known gang turf.
He was among a group of shady people who ran from cops because they looked like they were up to no good, according to police.
