Southern California man slain in Bayview District

A Southern California man was fatally shot in the Bayview early Monday morning as he was driving his car, police said. Calvin Sneed, 22, of Compton, was near Bayview Park at Meade and Le Conte avenues about 2 a.m. when he was shot in the head, police Officer Albie Esparza said. Sneed’s vehicle then crashed into a parked car. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and pronounced dead at 5 a.m., Esparza said. Read More

Man identified in Caltrain fatality

The San Francisco medical examiner's office has identified a man killed Saturday by a train in the city's Bayview district as 30-year-old Brandon Swain. Swain, a San Francisco resident, was struck on the tracks by southbound Caltrain No. 440 near Jerrold Avenue about 5:30 p.m., Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.
