A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of punching his mother in the face early Friday morning, police said.
Officers responded to the 1100 block of Gilman Avenue after receiving a call saying a woman was screaming in the street. They found a 48-year-old woman who had been bleeding from a possibly broken nose, police said.
She told officers she had been fighting with her son. The son was arrested on aggravated assault charges.

A man was shot in the arm Wednesday evening while standing on a sidewalk in the Bayview district, police said.
The 59-year-old man told police he was at the corner of Palou Avenue and Crisp Road about 6:17 p.m. when an unknown suspect approached him and shot him, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said. The suspect fled on foot and has not been found.

A Southern California man was fatally shot in the Bayview early Monday morning as he was driving his car, police said.
Calvin Sneed, 22, of Compton, was near Bayview Park at Meade and Le Conte avenues about 2 a.m. when he was shot in the head, police Officer Albie Esparza said. Sneed’s vehicle then crashed into a parked car.
He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and pronounced dead at 5 a.m., Esparza said.
