Motorcyclist killed in Bay Bridge collision at S-curve

A motorcyclist was killed Friday morning after slamming into the back of another vehicle on the Bay Bridge and was thrown from his bike.The driver of the motorcycle, described as a male, was driving west on the Bay Bridge around 10:45 a.m. when he struck the back of a Toyota Corolla, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Tam. A man was taken to a hospital after a crash on the Bay Bridge this morning that involved an AC Transit bus and several other vehicles, California Highway Patrol spokesman Tony Tam said.The collision, reported just after 6 a.m., blocked two lanes on westbound Interstate Highway 80 on the Bay Bridge’s eastern span.A 28-year-old Vallejo man driving a Chevrolet Avalanche was transported to Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center, but Tam did not know his condition. Fog advisory issued for Bay Area bridges

Fog advisories have been issued for two more Bay Area bridges this morning after a National Weather Service dense fog alert went into effect late Monday night.The San Mateo and Bay bridges both have been issued fog advisories early this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.As of 2 a.m. visibility on the Bay Bridge was down to 300 feet, the CHP said.At 5:03 a.m. a dense fog advisory was issued in east Contra Costa County, the CHP said. Plans afoot to celebrate San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge 75th Anniversary
