OAKLAND — Nate McLouth's patience as Baltimore's leadoff hitter is paying off nicely so far.
The rest of the Orioles lineup isn't doing too bad, either.
McLouth reached base four times and scored twice to extend his recent hot streak, Nick Markakis drove in two runs, and Baltimore opened its longest road trip of the season by routing the Oakland Athletics 10-2 on Thursday night.

The Baltimore Orioles needed something different Sunday if they were ever going to figure out how to win in the Oakland Coliseum.
It turns out all they needed was to play in daylight.
Baltimore continued its mastery of day baseball, winning for an American League-leading 28th time in 42 chances, to stave off a three-game sweep at the hand of the A’s, who as hosts had beaten the Birds 16 of their previous 18 meetings dating back to 2008.

Wei-Yin Chen may be a rookie with the Baltimore Orioles, but he continues to pitch like a talented veteran.Chen struck out 12 in just 5²⁄³ innings, and the Orioles got homers from Matt Wieters and Omar Quintanilla in a 6-1 victory over the A’s on Sunday afternoon.
Chen (9-6) set a record for strikeouts by a Taiwanese-born pitcher, breaking the mark of 10 that Chien-Ming Wang set on June 17, 2007, when pitching with the Yankees.
