San Francisco can expect to add a hotel tax initiative to the list of measures submitted for the November ballot. A coalition of teachers, health workers and concerned citizens on Tuesday plan to file a list of valid signatures to qualify a hotel tax measure for the November ballot. Tax hikes proposed for November ballot

Mayor Gavin Newsom closed a deficit without tax hikes, but that didn’t stop other elected officials from proposing tax measures for the November ballot. On Tuesday, Board of Supervisors President David Chiu introduced a ballot measure that would change how San Francisco taxes businesses and generate more than $30 million in revenue.
