A man arrested on suspicion of stealing a tow truck that had been parked across the street from county jail in the South of Market district had just been let out of the correctional facility, according to police.

San Francisco cops are baffled by a robbery report in which the victim left more than $3,000 worth of electronics — including an Apple iPad — in a parked car overnight. On Twitter Friday, Northern Station police Capt. Anne Mannix reported the car break-in at Filbert and Divisadero streets.
