Warriors’ Stephen Curry to compete in 3-point contest All-Star weekend

The Warriors’ Stephen Curry and New York’s Steve Novak, two of the top three 3-point field-goal shooters this season, will complete in the 3-Point Contest during the All-Star Saturday festivities on Feb. 16, the NBA announced Thursday. Curry, who was not elected to the All-Star Game despite averaging 20.7 points per game, ranks No. 2 in 3-pointers, making 44.9 percent of his long-range shots, while Novak ranks third, hitting 44.4 percent of his 3-pointers. The largest crowd to watch a basketball game saw an all too familiar sight.Dwyane Wade did it again in north Texas.Wade had 28 points and won MVP honors, and the Eastern Conference edged the West 141-139 on Sunday night in the NBA All-Star game.The crowd of 108,713 at Cowboys Stadium watched Dallas native Chris Bosh make the winning free throws with 5.0 seconds left.
