S.F., other Bay Area counties among fastest growing in California

Three Bay Area counties had the fastest-growing populations in California over the past year, according to new data from the state. San Francisco, San Mateo and Alameda counties all had growth rates of more than 1 percent between January 2012 and the beginning of this year, according to Department of Finance figures released Wednesday. Man accused of robbing Steve Jobs’ home held on $500K bail

A man accused of burglarizing the late Steve Jobs’ Palo Alto home last month — making off with electronics, jewelry and even the Apple co-founder’s wallet, which contained a $1 bill — reportedly had no idea whose home it was before he broke in, authorities said. Woman, man dead in apparent Alameda murder-suicide

Alameda police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide Monday evening that claimed the lives of a woman and a man who appeared to have been a former couple, according to police.Around 6:35 p.m. police responded to calls of gunshots heard in the 2100 block of Alameda Avenue.Arriving officers found a 30-year-old Alameda woman and a 36-year-old Oakland man suffering form gunshot wounds.
