Booze shortage leads to metal pipe attack

A man was struck in the head with a metal pipe because he refused to buy the attacker booze at Eighth and Market streets early Friday, police said. The thirsty thug became insanely jealous that the 47-year-old victim was drinking alcohol at the intersection about 1 a.m. The 50-year-old asked the victim to give him money for booze but was rejected, Sgt. San Francisco pizza deliveryman attacked, robbed of cash

A trio of thugs jumped a pizza deliveryman for his cash in the Bayview district Sunday, police said. The victim had delivered a pizza about 4:45 p.m. in the first block of Dakota Street, police said, when three men in their 20s attacked him and took his cash. A man was arrested last weekend after assaulting a liquor store owner with a bottle of beer he thought was overpriced, police said. About 11:15 p.m. Saturday, two men entered the store at 23rd and Kansas streets to buy beer, police said. Man hit in head with baseball bat in Tenderloin

A 72-year-old man was struck in the head with a baseball bat for no apparent reason Sunday morning, cops said. The man was standing on the corner of Ellis and Taylor streets around 1:25 a.m. when a man in his 20s approached, struck the man with the bat and fled on foot, police said. Two men jumped leaving Union Square area nightclub

Two men in their 20s leaving a nightclub in the Union Square area were jumped by four thugs Friday, cops said. The victims were punched and knocked on the ground at Campton Place and Stockton Street around 2:20 a.m., police said.
