A man was taken to a hospital after a crash on the Bay Bridge this morning that involved an AC Transit bus and several other vehicles, California Highway Patrol spokesman Tony Tam said.The collision, reported just after 6 a.m., blocked two lanes on westbound Interstate Highway 80 on the Bay Bridge’s eastern span.A 28-year-old Vallejo man driving a Chevrolet Avalanche was transported to Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center, but Tam did not know his condition. A window on an AC Transit bus was shattered early this morning when someone fired a BB gun at the bus in Oakland. The shooting happened at about 12:26 a.m. in the area of San Pablo Avenue and Powell Street, near the Emeryville border, AC Transit spokesman Clarence Johnson said.There were six passengers on the bus at the time, and no one was injured, Johnson said. Six people hospitalized after van collides with AC Transit bus

Six people were hospitalized when a van collided with an Alameda-Contra Costa Transit bus in Oakland on Thursday afternoon, according to a spokesman for the bus agency.The bus was traveling west on Foothill Boulevard at the intersection with 5th Avenue about 4:30 p.m. Thursday when a van traveling north on Fifth Avenue apparently ran a red light, AC Transit spokesman Clarence Johnson said.The bus then broadsided the van, Johnson said. Muni seeks to reduce drivers' premium-time pay during off hours

As the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency negotiates a new labor pact with its operators, managers are trying to modify a contract that rewards drivers who work off hours with what is perhaps the country’s most generous premium pay. Man killed when he reportedly jumped in front of AC Transit bus

A pedestrian was killed in Oakland tonight when he apparently jumped in front of an AC Transit bus, an agency spokesman said.Witnesses said the man intentionally leaped in front of the bus at about 6 p.m. in the 3600 block of Grand Avenue, near Mandana Boulevard, AC Transit spokesman Clarence Johnson said."It's very tragic, obviously," he said.Several passengers were on board at the time, but no other injuries were reported, Johnson said.   Read More

Muni assigns little blame to its drivers in collisions

Muni drivers are found at fault in collisions less often than at other agencies.
Eight of Muni’s drivers were involved five or more accidents in 2010, but because most of the collisions were determined not to be their fault, they’re still behind the wheel. Last year, two drivers were involved in seven accidents each, three were in six, and three more were in five apiece, according to data provided by Muni in response to a public-records request.
