Teenager shot while walking through S.F. park

A 19-year-old man was walking with his friend through James Rolph Jr. Playground Sunday when an unknown gunman ran up and opened fire with a handgun, striking him several times.

The shooting happened at the park near 26th and Hampshire streets around 9 p.m., police said. The man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and is expected to survive.

Police have no description of the shooter.

No one was robbed during the incident, and it’s unknown why the man was shot.
