As hearings resume in the 8th District Court of Appeals today, the Sports Fans Coalition has filed a brief with the court asking that the NFL lockout be lifted.
The NFL coaches association has also filed a brief. Coaches want to be able to work with players, as they usually do with minicamps in the offseason, but they are hamstrung by the lockout.

The NFL is a huge business, affecting many people other than those playing the game, and the fallout from the lockout is already being felt.
“There are a lot of people whose income depends in large part on the games,” said player agent Jason Chayut of New York-based SportsStars Inc. “People like ticket sellers, vendors. If the games aren’t played, they lose income and it’s not like they can make it up because the season can’t be extended into April.”

A pit bull that attacked three people in Golden Gate Park last week is facing a death sentence if the owners don’t come forward by today.
The attack by the male pit bull that put two people in the hospital prompted increased patrols in the park to prevent future incidents.
The dog’s owners, who police said have been illegally breeding pit bulls and other canines for sale and living in a homeless encampment, have not been found.
