An injured yet crafty 300-pound sea lion eluded a group of Marine Mammal Center volunteers who made four attempts to rescue the animal from a dock at the Moss Landing Harbor in Monterey County Thursday, a center spokesman said.

Crews with the Marine Mammal Center were looking for at least one or possibly two California sea lions spotted with an entanglement around the neck and head along the San Francisco coastline Friday night and Saturday afternoon, a center spokesman said.
