A man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in the Mission district Monday after he collided head-on with a police cruiser, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.
The 22-year-old suspect was driving at a high rate of speed westbound on 19th Street about 12:48 a.m. when he struck the cruiser near Mission Street.
The officer was hospitalized but quickly released with injuries not considered life-threatening, Esparza said.
