A police officer reportedly dodged bullets during a freeway car chase early Thursday that led to the arrest of one of three suspects.
About 1:30 a.m., police said, the officer was driving an unmarked police cruiser southbound on U.S. Highway 101 in San Francisco when someone shot at him from a moving car.

A woman who accepted a ride with an apparent stranger Sunday was kidnapped and attacked with a hammer, police said.
The 57-year-old woman was trying to flag a taxi in the 2000 block of Market Street when the suspect, described as a 50-year-old white man, offered her a ride to 16th and Mission streets around 1 a.m., police said.

A body was found early this morning near San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood, police said.
Units responded to the area of Cesar Chavez Street and Pennsylvania Avenue where police received a call reporting a body had been seen at around 1:45 a.m.
The discovery was made near Caltrain tracks that run through the neighborhood, though it could not be immediately confirmed how or when the person died.
