BART is experiencing major delays on the Fremont Line in the East Bay due to an equipment problem on a train, according to the transit agency.The delay, reported by BART at just before 7 p.m.. followed another delay on the Daly City line in the East Bay earlier in the evening that was also caused by an train equipment problem.

Two people were stabbed after coming to the aid of a woman who had been punched by a man at Seventh and Market streets Thursday, police said.
Police were called to the high-crime intersection just before 7 p.m. Officers were told that the suspect, a 52-year-old man, had punched a 43-year-old woman following an argument.
Men ages 37 and 47 intervened. The suspect whipped out a folding knife, stabbed both men, then fled.
