Over 1 million safety violations found on Mexican trucks crossing into US

Just over 1 million safety violations — bad brakes, defective lights, flat tires, etc. — were found during 1.2 million inspections of Mexican trucks crossing the international bridges into El Paso, Texas, between 2007 and June 2011. These statistics raise new worries just when a new bilateral agreement is allowing Mexican trucks to carry long-haul freight deep into U.S. territory. Operation Fast and Furious is a growing scandal. Attorney General Eric Holder must go, but Congress should not stop investigating there, and it needs to ask if Democratic operatives knew anything.
