More than 2,000 PG&E customers in the Bay Area are without power Friday afternoon due to three separate outages around the region, a utility spokeswoman said.The biggest outage is in the area of San Francisco’s Parkmerced, where more than 1,500 customers are without power, according to PG&E.The cause of the outage had not been determined as of noon, and there was no estimate for when power would be restored, spokeswoman Katie Romans said. BART has resumed normal service in time for Tuesday’s evening commute, officials said. A power outage that occurred at 1:15 p.m. at the Montgomery Street station temporarily knocked out BART’s speed control system, forcing trains to travel below 25 mph between San Francisco and the East Bay, according to agency spokesman Jim Allison. Snow expected in East Bay above 2,500 feet

Snow is expected Tuesday in the higher elevations of the Santa Cruz Mountains, East Bay hills and the Diablo Range as another cold winter storm passes through the Bay Area. Elevations higher than 2,500 feet are expected to receive two to three inches of snow, and those greater than 3,000 feet should see about five to six inches of snow, National Weather Service meteorologist Brian Tetinger said.
