A project that would transform an old grocery store in the Presidio into a cultural institution was narrowed down to three concepts, the Presidio Trust announced. The southern approach to the Golden Gate Bridge will be completely transformed when it’s completed in 2015, and with it will come a new look for The City’s northern waterfront. The rebuild of Doyle Drive is bringing new parkland and pedestrian access between Crissy Field and the Main Post of the Presidio, a former Army base. The Walt Disney Co. is shutting down San Francisco-based video game production company LucasArts and laying off staff as it focuses on the less risky, less expensive path of licensing its characters and stories to other developers. A Marin County jury will begin its first full day of deliberations today in a pregnancy-discrimination lawsuit brought against Lucasfilm Ltd. by a San Francisco woman. Julie Gilman Veronese, daughter-in-law of San Francisco lawyer Angela Alioto, sued the famed film company last year. She claims George Lucas’ personal assistant offered her a $75,000-a-year job working in the filmmaker’s home, but refused to let her start work after learning she was pregnant. Read More
