Landon Donovan scored in the 72nd minute on passes from Robbie Keane and David Beckham, and the Los Angeles Galaxy's three superstars won their first MLS Cup together with a 1-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Sunday night. So many of Lowell High School’s wins in the past two seasons have been blowouts, but the Cardinals were pushed to the brink again in the Academic Athletic Association boys’ soccer championship game on Saturday. After a disappointing week that featured its first two Bay Counties League West losses, University High School’s boys’ soccer team proved again on Monday that it can compete with the North Coast Section’s best. Capitalizing on their only scoring opportunity of the second half, University’s Jesse Beller scored in the 65th minute to give the Red Devils a 2-1 victory over Branson School in Ross in nonleague play at the College of Marin. Lowell extends AAA win streak despite plenty of controversy

The win streak is still alive, but it wasn’t pretty and wasn’t short on controversy. Lowell High School’s boys’ soccer team extended its Academic Athletic Association win streak to 27, despite being outplayed by visiting Lincoln for almost all of its 2-0 win on Thursday. The Mustangs outshot Lowell 8-1 and dominated possession and scoring opportunities, but the Cardinals (9-0) scored two goals on penalty kicks from senior Jesus Sanchez. Read More

Wolves down rival with scoring barrage

After its first loss of the season, Jewish Community High School of the Bay’s boys’ soccer team asserted itself against rival Kehillah on Sunday at Menlo College, and it did so with force.
