Robbed while they slept

Two young men were robbed while they slept on Thursday, cops said. The men, ages 19 and 20, were sound asleep in their apartment in the 100 block of Hyde Street, police said. They were robbed sometime between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. A cell phone, laptop and cash were taken, police said. Police said there was no sign of forced entry. Tourist sees swift retribution after being robbed

A tourist saw a side of San Francisco he would rather have skipped on Saturday.The visitor was robbed of cash at gunpoint at Grant Avenue and Pine Street around 4:42 a.m., police said.The tourist also saw The City’s police in action. After he called police, who broadcasted the crook’s description, there was a swift arrest in the downtown area. A 23-year-old skateboarder was acquitted of battery charges Tuesday stemming from an altercation with two off-duty cops last summer. On June 26, Matthew Hoyt, of San Francisco, was riding his skateboard in the Civic Center area when a car driving behind him “began furiously honking,” he testified in court, according to the Public Defender’s Office.
