Police are hunting for a crabby cabbie who reportedly attacked a passenger with an unknown object over the weekend.The attack reportedly happened when the victim was dropped off at First and Harrison streets. After being paid, the driver “got out of the cab and began yelling at the victim,” police said, “then began swinging an unknown object.” The attack left the 33-year-old victim with “minor abrasions to his arm,” police said. A San Francisco man was fatally shot in Hayes Valley on Tuesday night, just two blocks away from where an innocent bystander was wounded in November, police said.
Byron Beasley, 24, was found in the 700 block of Grove Street about 7:50 p.m. He had been shot in his torso and leg, and died later at a hospital.
Police said the suspects might have been driving a white vehicle. No motive for the shooting is known, and an investigation is ongoing.

A 37-year-old man’s attempt to retrieve his stolen cellphone near the Academy of Art University on Friday ended badly, police said.
The man had reportedly been riding Muni near Mission and New Montgomery streets about 8:05 p.m. when one of two thieves snatched his phone. The victim gave chase, police said, but the second suspect knocked him down before fleeing with his accomplice.
