A man was shot after parking his car in the Bayview on Sunday, police said.The 42-year-old victim parked his car in the 100 block of Middle Point Road about 6:30 a.m. when multiple shots were fired, police said.A family member heard the shots and found the victim lying on the ground. Woman runs red light, strikes San Francisco police car

A woman allegedly ran a red light and hit a San Francisco police car Sunday, injuring an officer in the South of Market neighborhood.The collision at the intersection of Fifth and Brannan streets occurred at about 2:45 p.m., police said. Man arrested in San Francisco’s Bayview on animal cruelty charges

A heartless man was arrested on animal cruelty charges in the Bayview on Tuesday after police discovered the corpse of a dead pit bull puppy in the back seat of his car, police said. About 5:40 p.m., police pulled the man over for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Cameron Way, not far from Candlestick Park. A chatty thief who asked to borrow a cellphone in the Bayview on Tuesday -- and took more than 20 minutes to finish his conversation -- was arrested after he allegedly decided not to return the device, police said. Two youths pulled off a daunting escape from a San Francisco juvenile detention facility Tuesday night by reportedly squeezing through a square-foot-size window and making it over a 20-foot barbed-wire fence. Group detained after allegedly shooting at cops

One person was arrested and seven others detained after shots were fired at an unmarked police car near India Basin early Tuesday morning, Officer Albie Esparza said. Leafaitulagi Ioani, 18, of San Francisco was arrested on suspicion of driving without a license and evading police after she and two other drivers sped off after the shooting, Esparza said. Poor grades turns Academy of Art student into thief

Poor grades apparently caused an Academy of Art University student to steal a bicycle from one of his school’s campuses, according to police. The thief was reportedly captured on video March 26 swiping a Fuji bike from the campus at 601 Brannan St. On April 4, police said, a “very observant” security guard spotted the suspect and identified him as a student.
