Man robbed of cash, card and cellphone at gunpoint in Bayview

A man was robbed at gunpoint by three masked men in the Bayview district early Thursday morning, police said. The 41-year-old victim was in the area of Jennings Street and Van Dyke Avenue about 1:15 a.m. when the three masked hoodlums held him up at gunpoint, police said. The creeps demanded his property, police said, and fled on foot. The victim lost his cash, debit card and cellphone. No arrests have been made. Read More

He won the tug of war, but lost the battle (and his phone)

A 16-year-old boy was talking on his phone on a Muni light-rail vehicle at Church Street and Duboce Avenue about 6:55 p.m. when one of three other teenage boys tried to take it. A tug of war ensued, police said, and two of the punks pushed the victim off the vehicle and started beating him up, police said. Girl choked, robbed on foot bridge near City College

A 19-year-old  girl was choked and robbed about 7 a.m. Wednesday near City College of San Francisco while walking on the foot bridge that crosses Ocean Avenue onto campus. A man in his 20s snuck up from behind, put his arm around her neck and choked her, police said. The troll then pushed her to the ground and fled with her cellphone, police said. A man who was fatally shot in South of Market early Sunday morning has been identified as Stoney Whetstone, 28, of Union City, the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office said Tuesday. Read More

Stepdad pleads out of child sex abuse case

This guy is the stepdad from hell. And yet his victims only wanted to keep mom happy. Robert Sparhawk, 48, of Palo Alto pleaded no contest Monday to three felony child molestation charges for sexually abusing his wife’s two daughters, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said. Sparhawk, an IT analyst for a San Francisco company, reportedly began the abuse in February 2007 when the family lived in San Mateo. The victims were 11 and 12 years old at the time. Read More

Crook bites employee during failed tip-jar heist

A 23-year-old man was arrested Saturday after attempting to steal the tip jar in a restaurant in Lower Nob Hill, police said. The thief entered the restaurant in the 500 block of Post Street about 3 p.m. and snatched the tip jar. As an employee struggled to retrieve it, the crook bit him on the wrist and tried to flee, police said. The man was arrested near the restaurant. Read More

Gun-toting teenage toughs swarm boy, grab cellphone

A teenage boy was robbed at gunpoint in Dolores Park on Tuesday, police said. Six other teen boys reportedly confronted the victim about 9:30 a.m. One of the punks pulled out a handgun and took the boy’s cellphone and cash before fleeing, police said. Kin persuade suspect to face homicide charge

Police have made a second arrest in connection with the Sept. 16 shooting death of Jesus Solis. Dylan Lemalie, 20, of San Francisco, was arrested and charged with murder Tuesday, police said. Lemalie’s family reportedly persuaded him to surrender. On Monday, police arrested 18-year-old Adrian Landers in connection with the homicide. Read More

Ferocious trash talk spurs flashlight flogging

A 25-year-old man was assaulted with a flashlight Tuesday night after getting into an argument with another man over trash, police said. The incident occurred near the intersection of 41st Avenue and Fulton Street when the assailant emerged from his RV to confront the victim about where he dumped his trash, police said. The victim was left with a laceration to his head and a shoulder injury. The suspect was arrested. Read More

Looting lout knocks out and cleans out victim

A 42-year-old man was robbed and knocked unconscious Monday night after being attacked in the 400 block of Jessie Street, police said. When the victim regained consciousness, he discovered that his wallet and watch were missing, police said. He suffered a bruise to the head, but his injuries were not life-threatening. Read More
