It was a year marked with injuries and suspensions for the Giants — and big moves by the archrival Los Angeles Dodgers. The Orange and Black rallied to win the NL West anyway, but their postseason looked like it would be cut short as they dropped their first two NL Division Series games to the Cincinnati Reds.

As Sonny Dykes was introduced to the Bay Area media Thursday, he described the Cal coaching job he was assuming as a dream job. I can only hope it doesn’t turn into a nightmare, as it has for almost every other Cal coach since World War II. Read More

A popular refrain surrounding Jeff Tedford’s firing last week is that he was a victim of his own success. He raised the bar so high in his first five seasons at Cal it created unrealistic expectations amongst the fan base. Read More
The “what have you done for me lately” group got its way Tuesday, with the firing of Cal football coach Jeff Tedford. I think that is a big mistake.

Coach Jeff Tedford was fired on Tuesday after 11 seasons at California that began with great promise and ended with a disappointing run of mediocrity.
