The Giants are in desperate need of a strong outing from a starting pitcher to put an end to their current five-game skid and normally Matt Cain would be just the man for the job.
But Cain hasn’t been his normally reliable self in 2013.
The right-hander is off to an 0-2 start and is sporting a 6.59 ERA. To make matters even more troubling, Cain will be tasked with stopping the losing streak in hitter friendly Chase Field in Phoenix.
