A spokesman for the Menlo Park Fire Protection District has confirmed one fatality at a residence that went up in flames early this morning. 44-year-old San Carlos woman identified as drowning victim

A woman who died after being swept underwater by a wave at Sharp Park Beach in Pacifica this afternoon has been identified by the San Mateo County coroner's office as 44-year-old San Carlos resident Grelia Smith. Shortly before 1:45 p.m., Pacifica police officers and members of the North County Fire Department responded to a report of a possible drowning. Pedestrian death marks first of ’10

San Francisco recorded its first pedestrian fatality Thursday when a driver hit and killed a woman in a crosswalk along a busy residential road near West Portal. At about 6:23 p.m. Wednesday, 54-year-old Feng Zhu of San Francisco was walking north on Sloat Boulevard near Forest View Drive when she was hit and killed in an unlit crosswalk, according to police. Police investigate dead body discovered near train tracks

A body was found early this morning near San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood, police said.     Units responded to the area of Cesar Chavez Street and Pennsylvania Avenue where police received a call reporting a body had been seen at around 1:45 a.m.     The discovery was made near Caltrain tracks that run through the neighborhood, though it could not be immediately confirmed how or when the person died. Woman fatally struck by vehicle

A female pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Friday night at Van Ness Avenue and Bush Street in San Francisco, a police spokeswoman said. The victim was hit at about 9:15 p.m. and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving, police Sgt. Lyn Tomioka said. Read More
