Police reported a rash of armed robberies throughout San Francisco over the weekend.
According to police, 18 armed robberies occurred between Friday night and Sunday night.
Police spokesman Sgt. Wilfred Williams acknowledged the amount was "unusual" but would not say if police believed any of the robberies were connected.

The Medical Examiner’s Office has released the identity of the man shot and killed in Potrero Hill on Tuesday.
Armando Rodriguez, a 32-year-old San Francisco resident, was shot near a taco stand on the 1400 block of Arkansas Street about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said the suspect, a man in his 20s, fired at Rodriguez multiple times before fleeing west on 24th Street. No arrests have been made. Read More
