In San Francisco, temperatures soared into the high 70s on Monday and Tuesday, but a cooling pattern today is expected to bring more typical weather for November, with rain possible. High surf predicted, but no word yet on Mavericks

The National Weather Service issued a high surf warning Thursday afternoon and evening, with swells of up to 15 feet along the Peninsula coast and breaking waves as high as 20 feet on local beaches. The high waves fueled speculation the Mavericks Invitational surf contest might happen soon. Power restored to thousands of Bay Area customers

The remaining 208 customers without power this morning in North Richmond were expected to have their power restored by 6:30 a.m. after ten of thousands of customers were in the dark since 11:15 p.m. Friday night, a PG&E spokeswoman said. More than 28,000 customers in Richmond were in the dark overnight because of a transmission outage, spokeswoman Jana Morris said. A majority of customers had power restored by 5 a.m. this morning. Rain in the forecast for Sunday's San Francisco 49ers game
