Man shot on seedy Sixth Street

A man was shot in the arm on Sixth Street early this morning, police said. The 56-year-old told police he was sitting in front of a hotel in the 100 block of Sixth Street at about 2 a.m. when he heard a gunshot and felt the sting from the bullet. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital and is expected to survive, police said. No arrest has been reported. The victim said he didn’t know the shooter. A father was stabbed during a brawl with a vile thug who had urinated in front of his two young daughters in the mid-Market district on Tuesday. At about 6:30 p.m., police said, the disgusted 27-year-old dad was waiting at a bus stop with the toddlers near The Warfield on Market Street when the suspect approached and began peeing in the shelter, Officer Gordon Shyy said. Cabbie robbed at knife-point in SoMa

A taxi driver was robbed by a customer at knife-point in the South of Market district Wednesday night, police said. The hack heist was reported in the 1000 block of Folsom Street, near Sixth Street, at about 8:45 p.m. The suspect hailed the taxi, went on a ride and then put the knife to the cab driver’s neck, police said. High beams lead San Francisco cops to stolen vehicle

This suspect wasn’t very bright after all. Southern Police Station officers who had been patrolling the Sixth Street corridor during the early morning hours of Feb. 12 said they came upon a vehicle traveling southbound with its high beams on. Lousy meth cook attacks buyer

A man was zapped with a stun gun and stabbed in the arm on Sixth Street early Tuesday morning during a fight over the quality of the methamphetamine he had just purchased, police said. The stabbing was reported shortly after midnight in the first block of Sixth Street. The victim, a man in his early 50s, had purchased the drug from the suspect, then later confronted him after being unsatisfied with it, according to police. Read More

In the first homicide of the year in The City, an unidentified man was cut down early Thursday on the squalid Sixth Street corridor, just yards from where a new police substation has been planned.
