Police and prosecutors in San Francisco will no longer use condoms as evidence when arresting and charging sex workers, according to an agreement announced Tuesday between The City’s law enforcement agencies and the Human Rights Commission.
The agreement followed a six-month trial period in which condoms were not used as evidence in cases.

About 200 San Francisco city workers briefly lost their email access late last week, a Department of Technology spokesman confirmed Wednesday.The department was beginning the process of converting city email from an IBM program to a Microsoft program, when the glitch occurred, according to spokesman Ron Vinson.“We did have a problem with some of our users that were migrating over to Microsoft,” Vinson said. “We were able to mitigate that.”

Theresa Sparks, the executive director of the Human Rights Commission, announced Thursday that the organization would open an outreach office in the Bayview district in partnership with the San Francisco African American Chamber of Commerce. In addition, the office will set up programming to inform small businesses of all city contracting opportunities and enroll them in the Local Business Enterprise Program, among other tasks.
