A man was assaulted with a bottle outside a Mission district nightclub early Thursday morning, police said. The 27-year-old was first approached by the two male suspects inside the nightclub in the 3000 block of Mission Street, police Officer Gordon Shyy said. One of the men confronted the victim and words were exchanged, Shyy said. The victim reportedly then walked away. Read More

A 25-year-old man is recovering after being attacked and left unconscious and bleeding in the street during a “large-scale melee” outside a South of Market nightclub early Sunday, police said.Officers were called to a club in the 600 block of Mission Street just before 12:30 a.m. after multiple witnesses reported a fight involving about 30 to 40 people in the street, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said. A UC San Francisco medical student was on life support Monday following a fight in a popular South of Market nightclub last weekend.Fourth-year medical student Joe Hernandez, 30, suffered head trauma during a wild night at Temple in which two fights broke out within 25 minutes, leaving four people injured.
