Nightclub fight victim on life support

Two fights at a South of Market district nightclub in about 20 minutes Sunday left one man in critical condition, police said.A 30-year-old man was on life support Monday after suffering head trauma when a fight broke out inside the Temple Nightclub at 540 Howard St. around 1:20 a.m., police said Monday. A 26-year-old victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries in that fight. Read More

Nightclub violence continues with shooting

The long-running issue of violence outside nightclubs has resurfaced with a shooting outside a downtown venue Sunday morning that wounded two people. Two people were shot and injured outside Lot 46 at 46 Geary St., located about a block east of Union Square, around 1:53 a.m., Police Department spokesman Officer Eric Chiang said Monday. Police said the pair refused to help officers find the attacker and numerous witnesses offered vague descriptions of the shooter. Read More

Suspect in nightclub killing arrested; no charges filed

A suspect in the July killing of a man outside the San Francisco club Jelly's was arrested late last week, police said Wednesday. The news came to light at the Police Department's CompStat meeting Wednesday morning in the Bayview District, where police Capt. Greg Suhr noted the arrest. Lee Farley, 39, of Richmond, was shot on July 11 at about 1:40 a.m. outside Jelly's, a Mission Bay dance cafe located on Pier 50. Read More
