A woman in the Upper Haight neighborhood had her camera snatched while she was taking pictures about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, police said. The 66-year-old victim reportedly tried to fight off the crook, described as a male who appeared to be in his late teens, on Haight Street near Masonic Avenue. Armed cash-grabbers help man with ATM subtraction

A man who withdrew cash from an ATM at 16th and Mission streets early Thursday was forced by gun-toting goons to withdraw even more, police said. About 2:25 a.m., police said, the 43-year-old man was approached by two suspects, a man and a woman who appeared to be in their mid-20s and demanded cash at gunpoint. Blanket-tossing brute fleeces young woman in robbery

A thug threw a blanket over a 23-year-old woman’s head in order to steal her purse early Thursday in South of Market, police said. About 1:40 a.m., police said, the man reportedly punched the woman multiple times after covering her head with the blanket in the 100 block of Bluxome Street, a narrow alleyway that runs parallel to Brannan Street. The woman’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said, but she lost her purse, wallet, MP3 player and personal documents. Read More

Bus driver accused of molesting special-needs students

A contract bus driver accused in 2004 of molesting an 11-year-old special-needs student was charged with that and another count of felony molestation Wednesday after a new abuse allegation emerged last year. Attempted daytime robbery in the Richmond district foiled

A would-be bank robber came up empty-handed in the Richmond district after his attempted heist was stopped by the cops.The suspect, a black male, entered a bank on the 3500 block of California Street at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, walked up to a teller, and demanded money.
