The third rainstorm to pound the Bay Area in the past five days disabled public transit, flooded storm drains and caused thousands of power outages across San Francisco on Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service, 1.03 inches of rain had fallen in downtown San Francisco by 11 a.m.
“It was a pretty intense band of rain that moved right through The City,” said Austin Cross, a meteorologist with the weather service. “It was a similar amount of rain as the previous storm, but it happened rather quickly.”

Road closures, flooding and power outages greeted commuters, as expected, Wednesday morning, and it was just the beginning of the storms expected to wallop the Bay Area this week.
Up to an inch of rain fell in parts of the region, which led to closures of roadways in Palo Alto and highway ramps in Marin County. In San Francisco, Great Highway was shut down in both directions by noon because of flooding, but otherwise no major flooding was reported in The City.

A power outage has left some 6,500 PG&E customers in the dark in parts of San Francisco, Daly City and Brisbane on Tuesday night, a utility spokesman said.
The outage was reported at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday evening and power is expected to be restored to all customers by 11 p.m., spokesman J.D. Guidi said.
The outage is impacting customers in areas including San Francisco's Visitacion Valley neighborhood, northern Daly City and portions of Brisbane, Guidi said.

More than 10,000 Bay Area PG&E customers are without power today because of continuing high winds that have been battering the region since Wednesday, a PG&E spokesman said.
As of this morning, 9,850 customers in Santa Cruz County, 1,000 customers in the East Bay, 570 customers in San Francisco, 350 customers in the South Bay and 20 customers on the Peninsula had no service, spokesman J.D. Guidi said.
No outages were reported in the North Bay as of 9 a.m., he said.
