Tenderloin apartment fire cause under investigation, no reported injuries

Firefighters have extinguished a two-alarm fire that burned in an apartment building in the city's Tenderloin neighborhood this morning. Alley hog arrested for robbery

A homeless man laying claim to a Tenderloin alley forced another transient pay him for the right to stay there, police said. The victim told cops he was robbed by the homeless man early Saturday morning in the Cedar Street alley near Larkin Street, police said. The man who claimed the alley was his blocked the victim’s path, took money out of his pockets and said, “This is my alley and if you stay here you’re gonna get taxed,” police said. Read More
