A 56-year-old woman suffered a serious head injury Monday after being struck in a crosswalk just south of Crocker Amazon Playground, according to police.
Police initially reported the incident as a hit and run Tuesday morning, but have since revised their report to say the driver did stop at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The accident remains under investigation, police Sgt. Dennis Toomer said. Read More

A man was shot in the arm on Sixth Street early this morning, police said.
The 56-year-old told police he was sitting in front of a hotel in the 100 block of Sixth Street at about 2 a.m. when he heard a gunshot and felt the sting from the bullet.
