Bayview recycling center robbed at gunpoint

A recycling center located across the street from the Lowe’s home improvement center in the Bayview was robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning, police said. A 21-year-old employee at Our Planet Recycling at 531 Bayshore Blvd. told police the crook had turned in a ticket for recycling just before 7:30 a.m. When the victim opened her register, police said, the suspect, a man in his 30s, pulled out a handgun and bag and demanded cash. A man who was hit with a baseball bat in a Western Addition park on Tuesday was accused of striking out with the assailant’s girlfriend, police said.The attack reportedly occurred at Raymond Kimball Playground near Geary Boulevard and Steiner Street at about 4:45 p.m.The victim had been drinking all day with the couple, police said, even though he had only known the pair for one day. An intoxicated young man who had blocked the path of a Muni bus by standing in front of it during a recent morning commute might have egged a woman minutes earlier. About 6:55 a.m. Monday, police were called about a man preventing a bus’s movement at 33rd Avenue and Clement Street in the Outer Richmond district. A massive man who failed to push his way into a packed Muni bus in the Excelsior district last weekend reportedly punched and strangled a 15-year-old girl and also hit her mother. As of Wednesday, police were still hunting for the pushy thug who launched the shocking attack on the teenager at Mission Street and Onondaga Avenue, about two blocks from Balboa High School. Western Addition victim had nothing to offer thieves, but was stabbed anyway

A 38-year-old man reportedly told armed crooks in the Western Addition on Tuesday that he had nothing to give them. But that didn’t stop one of the thugs from stabbing the man in the torso with a small knife on the corner of Laguna and Grove streets at about 7:20 p.m. The suspects fled after the pointless attack empty-handed, police said.
