Pacific Heights fire causes $1.7 million in damage to home

A three-alarm fire that burned a home in the Pacific Heights neighborhood Wednesday afternoon caused $1.7 million in damage, according to the Fire Department. The fire was first reported at 10:50 a.m. at the residence at 2008 Vallejo St. Fire Lt. Mindy Talmadge said crews were on the scene minutes after receiving the reports of flames shooting from the top floor and attic of the three-story structure. Man shot won't talk to police

A man was gunned down in the Lower Pac Heights neighborhood in San Francisco early Sunday morning, but there's not much police can do about it.The 47-year-old victim was in the 1500 block of Broderick Street about 9:45 p.m. when another unidentified man shot him.  Police had no more information on the crime since the victim was reportedly uncooperative with their investigation.
