Man arrested trying to sell SF State computers at pawn shop

San Francisco police reportedly arrested a man Monday morning who was at a pawn shop trying to sell two computers labeled as San Francisco State University property following a break-in at the school recently. The Humanities Building at SFSU was broken into over the weekend and two iMac computers were stolen, school spokeswoman Ellen Griffin said. A painting contractor who had a number of contracts to work on San Francisco city and school projects is facing charges that she cheated her employees out of more than $600,000 in wages. Los Angeles police say an LAPD detective has been arrested for investigation of grand theft. An LAPD statement says Ramon Alvarez, a 25-year department veteran, was arrested Friday after a fellow detective reported he spotted Alvarez taking money from a drug bust in Los Angeles. Police: Mo. woman robbed cop called to help her

Police say a St. Louis woman who allegedly robbed an officer who responded to her call for help was caught when she used his bank card a short time later. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/xlPQHR) that the woman told police early Friday that her boyfriend had stolen her keys.
