A trio of thugs earned about $1.65 apiece when they stabbed and robbed a man as he left a Tenderloin corner store Tuesday night, police said. An Occupy SF camper squabbling over a blanket early Thursday allegedly tried to choke a fellow protester and whipped out a giant knife on another, police said. James Montenez, 37, who has no local address, was booked for battery following the chilly 2:45 a.m. clash in Justin Herman Plaza. The inmate population at San Francisco’s jails dropped sharply in early 2010 after the Police Department’s drug lab scandal came to light and again this year after allegations began surfacing about police misconduct during drug raids at residential hotels, Sheriff’s Department statistics show. A 30-year-old man at a rowdy party plunged from the roof of a two-story building on Fell Street while celebrating the famous footrace Sunday. Suspect in mugging that left man shot in the face pleads not guilty

The man accused of shooting a person in the face during a brutal mugging in the Bayview District pleaded not guilty on Friday to a host of charges, including attempted murder. Two children injured in pepper spraying at Powell Muni station

Two children were injured and four adults were hospitalized from being pepper sprayed at the Powell Street Muni station in San Francisco Saturday evening, a police spokesman said.Someone sprayed pepper spray for unknown reasons near turnstiles to the Powell Street Muni metro station at about 6 p.m., according to a police spokesman and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.
