Tough luck for alleged 'Rub Me' groper

A man accused of grabbing the buttocks of young girls at a Target store while wearing a T-shirt that read “Rub Me For Luck” asked a judge last week to throw out the charges, but was denied. On Tuesday, 50-year-old UPS deliveryman Glenn Albrecht will have to decide whether to face a jury trial or accept a plea bargain offered by prosecutors. This woman always gets stuck with the tools. A burglary suspect who was fleeing Belmont police earlier this month ditched his car along with his girlfriend, leaving her behind with all the tools he had allegedly stolen from a storage shed, according to prosecutors. Ex-psychiatrist William Ayres pleads no contest to charges of molesting boys

After years of legal wrangling, Dr. William Ayres, an 81-year-old former San Mateo psychiatrist accused of molesting boys during examinations in the 1990s, admitted to the charges against him Thursday. A wheelchair-bound Ayres pleaded no contest to eight felony molestation charges just four days into jury selection in his second trial in San Mateo County Superior Court. Misplaced ballots were likely due to human error, elections official says

An ongoing investigation into 65 ballots that were not found or counted for months after the November election points to human error as the cause, Chief Elections Officer Mark Church has indicated. On April 12, San Mateo County election officials discovered a vault containing uncounted provisional ballots and announced the discovery the next week. Of the 65 ballot envelopes, only 35 were eligible votes, and they did not affect the election results. Read More

Meth conviction for Rodent King

The Rodent King will remain caged for a bit longer. Robert Hollywood, 55 – the man who made headlines in 2004 following his arrest for keeping hundreds of rats and mice, dozens of them dead, in his Menlo Park home – was sentenced Friday to 16 months in County Jail after pleading no contest to  felony possession of methamphetamine. Man in court for allegedly impregnating 12-year-old daughter

The attorney for a Redwood City man accused of impregnating his 12-year-old daughter was granted more time Monday to mull whether to go to trial. In December of 2007, according to prosecutors, 40-year-old Manuel Jacinto brought his daughter to San Mateo Medical Center for an abortion. The hospital called police, and officers were told by both Jacinto and his daughter that a 12-year-old boy named Giovanni was the father, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
