The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is alerting residents of a mountain lion sighting in Woodside this morning.
A resident at 5 Vintage Court reported seeing the big cat in the driveway of the property at about 7:05 a.m., San Mateo County sheriff's Lt. Ray Lunny said.
There was no physical evidence of the mountain lion's presence, but deputies spoke to the property owner and believe the sighting is legitimate, Lunny said.

A report that a pair of mountain lions were seen entering the western side of Edgewood Park in San Mateo County at 1:30 p.m. Thursday is believed by San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department to have been a false alarm.
Sheriff’s deputies headed to the park, which is west of Redwood City, to investigate the reporting and found no signs of any mountain lions, according to department spokesman Ray Lunny.
