Man dies from stabbing in Mission district

A 23-year-old man died at the hospital this morning after being stabbed several times in the Mission District, according to police. Officers found the man near Cesar Chavez and Folsom streets around 12:30 a.m. A group of about five men had reportedly dispersed from the area shortly before officers arrived, according to a police report. Police investigate dead body discovered near train tracks

A body was found early this morning near San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood, police said.     Units responded to the area of Cesar Chavez Street and Pennsylvania Avenue where police received a call reporting a body had been seen at around 1:45 a.m.     The discovery was made near Caltrain tracks that run through the neighborhood, though it could not be immediately confirmed how or when the person died. Woman arrested in SOMA murder

A San Francisco woman was arrested after a male friend was found dead in his SoMa apartment Sunday night. Cameron Miller, 42, was found dead in the Henry Hotel, located at 106 Sixth St., police spokesman Sgt. Wilfred Williams said Monday. Kira Rouche, 34, had called police around 8 p.m. to report Miller as being unconscious in his apartment, but when paramedics arrived, they declared the man dead. Read More

Homicide inspectors are investigating what appears to be the beating death of an unidentified man Friday night in Crocker-Amazon. Officers received a call at about 9:50 p.m. reporting that two men were beating someone sitting inside a car at the intersection of Munich and Cordova streets, according to SFPD spokesman Sgt. The San Francisco medical examiner identified the victim of a fatal stabbing Monday night as 49-year-old San Francisco resident Eric Buschman. Buschman was unloading his pickup truck in front of his home, near Excelsior Avenue and Athens Street, when a man came up to him and stabbed him, according to police. Read More

A rowdy Tenderloin adult entertainment spot that has angered police and neighborhood residents for the violence and noise that has spilled out its front door could be shut down now that The City has asked for its closure. The Pink Diamonds nightclub at 220 Jones St. has long been targeted for closure by the City Attorney’s Office, but a homicide that police said happened in a line for the club may have been the final push to shutter the club. Police looking into connections in three gang killings

A gang-related fistfight near a Mission District pizzeria erupted into gunfire Sunday afternoon, leaving two men dead and two others behind bars. The victims were identified by the medical examiner’s office Monday morning as Francisco Pena, 41, a resident of The City, and Francisco Cornejo, 26, whose address wasn’t known. A friendly game of cards nearly turned deadly Wednesday night in the Excelsior district after a man allegedly stabbed his playing partner in the back amid a fit of rage related to accusations of cheating, police said. Slain mother was 'good person'

A young mother was felled by bullets while socializing outside a public-housing complex in Potrero Hill on Saturday night, the latest in a rash of killings in San Francisco. The victim was identified by the San Francisco medical examiner Sunday as 19-year-old Caprisha Green. Police say Green was shot about 10:25 p.m. in the 1000 block of Connecticut Street. She was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Police have made no arrests in the case. Read More
