Redwood City police arrested two people Monday in connection with the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man Sunday night.
An 18-year-old and 17-year-old were taken into custody in the homicide of Redwood City resident Julio Cuevas, who was shot just before 8 p.m. in the 400 block of Madison Avenue, police said.
Cuevas had been shot once and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Read More

A 33-year-old man was shot while sitting in a stopped car in the Bayview district Sunday night, and died at a hospital shortly thereafter.Shanta Sparks, a city resident, died at San Francisco General Hospital after he was transported around 11:30 p.m. from Third Street and Innes Avenue on Sunday after officers found him suffering from bullet wounds, according to Officer Boaz Mariles. Police said Sunday they are continuing an investigation into a fatal shooting in the Bayview district of a 20-year-old man from Berkeley, The City’s 16th homicide this year.
The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Stephen Powell. Police were called to the unit block of Garlington Court around 7 p.m. Saturday, and they found Powell with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene, according to police. Read More
