Police are still hunting for three youths who beat an elderly man to death in a 2010 case that sparked racial tensions between blacks and Asians in the Bayview neighborhood.

In the first homicide of the year in The City, an unidentified man was cut down early Thursday on the squalid Sixth Street corridor, just yards from where a new police substation has been planned.
The victim, about 30 years old, was found lying near the corner of Sixth and Stevenson streets just south of Market Street about 2:30 a.m., police said. The man, who had been stabbed in the torso, died at a hospital nearly an hour later.

Details about a deceased former cab driver discovered in a Polk Street residential hotel have proven to be a real-life locked-room mystery, according to the hotel’s owner. The body of 68-year-old Robert Slivoski was discovered in the Broadway Hotel, at 2048 Polk St., on Thursday and was classified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as a homicide, cops said.

A man was found dead in a Polk Street residence on Thursday, police said. Officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Polk Street around 8:18 a.m., after receiving a phone call about a dead body, police Officer Albie Esparza said. Upon arrival officers saw the man was a victim of homicide, which the medical examiner confirmed.

An 18-year-old man was shot and killed in the Bayview district Saturday afternoon.
Police said that at 4:49 p.m., they responded to a call on the unit block of Carr Street. When officers arrived, the victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cops did not have a description of the suspect or suspects.
